UV: What were you thinking when you made this piece on the cover?
SE: I was thinking about the relativity of language systems, their arbitrary designation of value to objects. BMWs can be spiritual, too.

UV: If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
SE: This is a fascinating question. I would have to say "red," because then no one would be able to tell if I was hurt.

UV: How does your art relate to your environment?
SE: It is one of the vertically positioned elements within my environment and speaks on the imperfection of said environment.

UV: How does Bay Area culture influence your work?
SE: By making me really not want to have a regular computer job, but be an artist instead.

UV: What is the most bizarre comment you've ever received about your work?
SE: "When looking at this painting, I experienced a physiological response that went beyond an Op Art effect." -Dale K.

UV: Does anything limit your art? What must you do to overcome these limitations?
SE: My inability to paint, my desire to work on my website. I must learn how to paint.
