UV: If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
RG: I'd be orange because it's so versatile, fast, happy, and pretty all at once.

UV: If you were stuck on a desert island what three things could you not live without?
RG: If I were stuck on a desert island I'd figure out how to survive, but I couldn't live without apples, art, and my family (Ben, Pony, Stella, and Clyde Earl).

UV: Assuming your life is a work of art, how would you title it? What size would it be and in what medium?
RG: If my life was a work of art right now I'd title it "Oh Luscious Poisonous California." It would be 200 by 200 feet with lots of bright flat shapes and made with Golden acrylics on very rough wood.

UV: How does your art relate to your environment?
RG: I try to take old wood and discarded things from my industrial neighborhood and bring out their best qualities. I try to give them some love and by doing that emphasize their character, natural beauty, and the hard life they've endured thus far.

UV: What is your definition of bad art?
RG: Bad commercial art is generally marketed really well but made really badly. Bad student art is usually over-done and under-thought. And bad art-world art is over-thought and under-done.
