.The Thanksgiving Play Held at City Lights Theater

The aptly titled comedy The Thanksgiving Play by playwright Larissa FastHorse follows a group of white theatre-makers as they attempt to create a Thanksgiving pageant fit for contemporary discourse—one that aims to respect Native American and other underrepresented perspectives while still placating mainstream audiences attached to traditional holiday narratives. The resulting satire strikes such a witty chord it is already slated to debut on Broadway in 2023, making FastHorse the first female Native American playwright to see her work produced on the Great White Way.
