To celebrate Frank Costanza’s cathartic, chaotic winter holiday, Festivus, Art Boutiki will be hosting the 7th Street Big Band. Started by the band’s drummer in “the depths of the east side,” the 7th Street Big Band is one of the coolest hidden musical gems in the South Bay. Composed of at least a dozen musicians, the group plays an intoxicating and compelling mix of funk, ragtime, swing and even mariachi, resulting in a style and sound that immediately attracts the ear. Across multiple albums, the 7th Street Big Band has developed its own mythos, and is surely on its way to being legendary.
