San Jose locals 12 Gauge Promise play a high tempo, melodic style of punk rock, like a mix between Bad Religion and Social Distortion. Their style is both immediately familiar yet somehow fresh, due to unique undercurrents throughout their songs. This weekend, they take to local favorite the Caravan Lounge, along with Funny Face, a San Jose act that blends warm ’90s lofi with upbeat pop punk. Rounding out the bill is Panhandlers Union, another group of hometown heroes with a fun (and somewhat sinister) folkpunk meets country sound.
