.J. Hoard in San Jose

There are not a lot of performers today that can combine the talents of legends like Aretha to Elton, and give it their own spin. Yet, that’s exactly what J. Hoard has aimed to do with their R&B and rock stylings, which they will bring to the stage at SJZ Break Room this coming Saturday. The Ridgewood, Queens-based artist first found a connection to music through their church choir in Columbus, Ohio; over the last few years, they have become renowned at iconic NYC venues including Joe’s Pub. They were also nominated for “Best Rap Song” at the 2017 Grammys for songwriting on Chance the Rapper’s “No Problem.”
