Marked by sludgy but plodding riffs, gutturally screamed vocals and a sound that reminds one of both Black Sabbath and Slayer, Santa Cruz-based metal band Chrome Serpent creates a sound that is energetic yet melancholy in an organic mix of doom metal, stoner metal and psych rock. Though their online presence is scarce, the power trio performs consistently in the Bay Area and along the California coast. Joining them will be San Jose-based metal band Sonic Skulls and the San Francisco-based and delightfully named doom metal band Stone Gnome.
