For those still searching for a worthy New Year’s resolution, how about committing to seeing more live theater? The Northern California premiere of Nora: A Doll’s House at City Lights is a great place to start. Playwright Stef Smith’s updated version of Ibsen’s 1879 classic follows overachieving wife and mother Nora from 1918 to 1968 and on to 2018, illuminating all that stays the same in a woman’s life over the decades. Three all-star actors give megastar Jessica Chastain, who happens to be playing Nora on Broadway at the moment, a run for her money: Roneet Aliza Rahamim, Melissa Mei Jones and Gabriella Goldstein.
