Alameda-based group the Sun Kings take the “just like the record” path to the Beatles’ music, presenting the Fab Four’s music in a manner that recreates the original as closely as possible and earning plaudits for its effective capture of the Beatles’ sound and essence. The five-piece band (guitarists Bruce Coe and Drew Harrison, drummer Andrew Griffin, Ruben Salis on keys and bassist Scott Southard) place a special emphasis on getting the vocals right. The show rings in 2025 at the venue the group calls its “very own Cavern Club.”
