Forbidden Love in Palo Alto

The Palo Alto Philharmonic presents an evening of classical music built around the theme of forbidden love. The program will present two works from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Overture to The Marriage of Figaro and “Piano Concert No. 22.” The latter will feature Taiwan-born pianist Sandra Wright Shen. Also on the program is Frederick Delius’s A Village Romeo and Juliet: The Walk to the Paradise Garden (written in 1910 but not recorded until decades later) and “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture” from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s 1869–1880 work. A pre-concert talk takes place at 7pm.
