Where better to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than Plaza de Cesar Chavez? Not only is the plaza home to many of San Jose’s largest cultural celebrations, it’s also a monument to a great Latin American leader—an appropriate setting for an event dedicated to Mexican history and culture.
The second annual San José Cinco de Mayo Festival takes place 11am–9pm on May 4. An all-day celebration of culture, community and heritage right in the heart of downtown, the event will feature food trucks and local vendors, live music and DJs, traditional mariachi and dance showcases, arts and crafts, children’s activities, and many surprises throughout the day. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the event.
