The Lovemakers have an appropriately horny and delightful origin story befitting their moniker. Legend has it Scott Blonde and Lisa Light were kicked out of Applesaucer, the group they’d been playing with, when they wouldn’t, or perhaps couldn’t, stop making out during band practice. With their fondness for one another and a need to keep storming stages, what choice did they have but to create their own band, one that would allow for face sucking during rehearsals? The new wave/electropop result is sexy, fuzzy, and very danceable. It’d probably be good music to make out to, as well.
