Apparently, “fruit flavored punk rock” is a thing now. That’s exactly what’s being delivered this Saturday when rock trio Blueberry rolls through town. Hailing from Southern California, Blueberry packs a sentimental punch of melodic emo and indie. The punk aspect comes from tracks like “double backflip gainer” and “Ice Cream +,” upbeat numbers with 8-bit video game style synth melodies and sounds mixed in. Presented by the great Heavy Lemon, Blueberry shares the stage with San Jose’s Antlion, SoCal mathrockers Collar (on tour with Blueberry), and the Bay Area’s own Founder’s Day.
