For many years, John Mulaney was the fresh-faced, mild-mannered young darling of comedy. He cut his teeth as a writer on Saturday Night Live, where he contributed numerous sketches and characters, including the beloved Stefon. Once he set out on his own, his star power grew even more. His standup specials became verified hits, and his 2023 special, Baby J, won both an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) and a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Special. Despite this, Mulaney is all too human. He’s struggled with substance abuse, but Mulaney is back and better than ever, with all the life experience to give his wide-eyed jokes a newfound, authentic edge.
