Norwegian classical pianist Leif Ove Andsnes began his career in the late 1980s, racking up an impressive string of accolades and awards. His body of recorded work is immense, with over 50 albums to his credit. Andsnes’ work covers a wide range of classical repertoire, but he is particularly noted for his interpretation of the works of Edvard Grieg and Modest Mussorgsky. For this performance, the 11-time Grammy nominee presents a program centering on the work of Central European composers—György Kurtág, Leoš Janáček, Béla Bartók and Franz Liszt—along with a pair of works by Robert Schumann.
