Prolific London-based playwright Lauren Gunderson has produced more than two-dozen plays, including her adaptation of Little Women, which was staged just last year at Theatre Works Silicon Valley. After premiering on London’s West End in 2023, Gunderson’s new play, Anthropology, makes its regional debut at City Lights Theater Company. The story follows Merril, a Silicon Valley software engineer who creates an AI version of her deceased sister, Angie, after she goes missing while on her way home from college. Directed by Lisa Mallette, this production features actors Maria Marquis, Alycia Adame, Tiffany Cartagena and Doll Piccotto. Performances go until June 7.
