.Adrea Castiano in Mount Hamilton

The laserium is getting a classy makeover and upgrade with Lick Observatory’s Music of the Spheres. This, ahem, out-of-this-world experience combines music and space for those who are ready to boldly go where no one has gone before. Each show features a performance accompanied by an astronomy lecture with the added bonus of telescope observations (weather permitting). This week’s musical guest, Adrea Castiano, will sing into the ether with her soulful blend of alt-rock meets indie pop. Then UC Santa Cruz astronomer and astrophysicist Dr. Jorge Cortes will discuss spider pulsars—neutron stars that act as cosmic predators, spinning at such high speeds they physically erase nearby companions.
