Amy Tan’s latest work, The Backyard Bird Chronicles, inspires a special evening hosted by Peninsula Open Space Trust. The celebrated author of The Joy Luck Club will discuss her love for her avian neighbors in a conversation with KQED journalist and Forum cohost Alexis Madrigal. Tan’s latest creative nonfiction work captures gorgeous moments at her bird feeders and shares heartfelt, witty illustrations from her nature journal. Her accounts, celebrating the lives of these creatures as individuals, affirm the significance of conservation efforts. The event includes a book signing with the celebrated ’73 SJSU alum.
