Now, of course, Pounders is well aware of what a big deal Lynch is, and he’s enjoying reading the varying reactions to the video on Facebook and YouTube.
“Some people love it, and some people are like ‘what the hell is this?’” says Pounders.
As for what it was like to be directed by Lynch, Pounders says “he’s actually a really, really nice, friendly guy.” And he’s just as quirky as fans of his movies would expect.
“When he was directing everybody for all of their separate parts, he would pretty much act it out himself,” he says.
Back here at the home, his band has a few things going on as well. After taking the semi-finals on March 30, Pounders will compete in the Battle of the Bands finals at 9 Lives in Gilroy April 21. They also just raised $3,000 on Kickstarter to film the video for their song “Scream and Let It Go.” And as they put the finishing touches on an acoustic release, they’re opening a Pounders store this week at pounders.bigcartel.com.
