Virginia-based Turnover has found a unique mix of sounds, combining elements of bubble gum pop, emo, EDM and soul to create dreamy, lush soundscapes that are tranquil yet highly danceable. Take, for example, the beachy groove of “Fantasy,” from 2022’s Myself in the Way, with its liquid synths and gentle shake. This Saturday, the band bring their unique sonic delights to San Jose when the album tour comes to town. Supported by artists Riki and Keep, Turnover and company will cast a distinctly ’80s synthpop specter over The Ritz this weekend.
