Like all popular works of literature, Mary Rodgers’ 1972 children’s novel Freaky Friday has been adapted several times, including Disney TV shows and feature films as recent as this year’s Freakier Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. The story follows a mom and her teenage daughter who swap bodies for a whole day to see what the other’s life is like. The musical version, with music by Tom Kitt, lyrics by Brian Yorkey and a book by Bridget Carpenter, debuted in 2016. This production features young actors aged 8 to 18 from the Los Altos Youth Theater. Performances go until Nov. 2.
