Fresha (born Frescia Belmar) is nominally a jazz bassist, but her artistry transcends the form. With extensive credits that include work with Karol G, Herbie Hancock, Janelle Monáe, and Mike Stern, she moves effortlessly between jazz, rock, fusion, and R&B, working on multiple instruments. A social media star in her own right, Fresha has also ventured into acting: she portrays guitarist Jennifer Batten in an upcoming film about Michael Jackson. Highlighting the synergy between her supple bass lines and soaring vocals, her latest single is the sultry and tuneful “first move!”
