The Goo Goo Dolls will kick off their Long Way Home summer tour at Shoreline on Friday night. Best remembered for a pair of multiplatinum albums in the mid-’90s, the New York-based band have been making music since the late-’80s and continue penning new songs. Last year saw the release of their 11th full-length and the group–led by vocalist John Rzeznik and guitarist Robby Takac released an EP, You Should Be Happy, in May. American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will join the Dolls on the tour.
