It’s the battle of the Fishes when Idiot Fish and Scratchy Fish take to the Art Boutiki stage. Created by drummer and composer Wally Schnalle, Idiot Fish has evolved since the 2010 San Jose Jazz Fest. Its current lineup boasts five international players with decades of finely tuned chops. Add to the bill Scratchy Fish, a band described as “progressive jazz with balls” that plays improvisational and primary arrangements from rock artists like David Bowie, Radiohead and Sting for a double catch of reeling entertainment. Who knew jazz was so fishy?
