Pulling from different genres and styles to inspire awe and emotion, “Images” is a long-standing tradition at Santa Clara University. Faculty and students present original works, complete with large-scale concepts and costume designs for students to explore. This year’s guest choreographer is award-winning global performer and cultural preservationist Ye Feng. Her quintet, blending tradition and improvisation, will be supported by live drummers and flutists. Show director and faculty member Kristin Kusanovich will present “five communions,” which draws from early ’70s psychedelic folk to meditate on the interbeing of community, nature, and selfhood. In “Images,” metaphor meets meaning with deep grace and intention. Goes until Feb 8.
