Soprano Nadine Sierra is not yet 30, but in her career to date she has already made a serious impact. The youngest person to win the prestigious Marilyn Horne Foundation Vocal Competition, Sierra made her operatic debut at age 16 as the Sandman in Hansel and Gretel. Today Sierra is best known for her roles in Verdi’s Rigoletto (as Gilda) and as the lead in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. In the years since, Sierra has continued to rack up numerous awards, and has appeared onstage at the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra National de Paris and other high-profile venues.
