Born in Nova Scotia, fiddler Natalie MacMaster is renowned for her unique bowing style, her impressive technique and strong commitment to the preservation of Cape Breton musical traditions. Her husband and fellow fiddler Donnell Leahy is equally admired in the world of Celtic music; together, the two have developed a spirited style that celebrates tradition while carefully incorporating contemporary elements. The couple’s latest album together, Canvas was released in 2023. Worldwide ambassadors of Celtic music, MacMaster and Leahy tour with a show that traces the music from its roots to present day. Their all-star band also includes daughter Mary Frances.
