Although Mama Kin bills itself largely as a jazz-based dinner club and bar, upcoming act Object Heavy defy any any one genre’s confines. Channeling everything from early Motown to Steely Dan (and maybe even progressive rock heroes Yes), the Arcata, CA, based Object Heavy frankly tends towards love-making music, with soulful grooves, impeccable timing, and a carefree attitude in its sonic explorations. Object Heavy are touring in support of their recently released first full length, Love & Gravity, a title which cements their affinity for mass and physics.
