For the past 15 years Ominous Ruin has been one of the Bay Area’s favorite technical death metal outfits. This year they returned with not only a new album—Requiem released last May—but they also brought with them a whole new brutal vocalist, Crystal Rose. And something is definitely working as Requiem has received some serious acclaim from underground metal critics and publications. This Friday is opportunity for metalheads to celebrate the death of 2025, and the end of San Jose’s beloved art gallery and venue, Art Boutiki, with some face shredding riffs, ear bleeding beats and guttural demonic screams as Ominous Ruin is joined by Tomb Spawn, Spirit Machine and 8:19.
