Poets for Palestine in San Jose

Writers and SJSU lecturers Ume Ali and Au-Co Tran were frustrated at the media’s portrayal of the conflict in Gaza, so they decided to do something about it and organized the Poets for Palestine. The open mic event will be held this Thursday at Nirvana Soul, as a place for writers, artists, and members of the community to voice their feelings about the lack of empathy and dehumanization of Palestinian people and will be open to the public. All genres of writing are welcome. Local poet and activist Asha Sudra will headline.
