In her solo exhibition at NUMU, Los Gatos-based artist Marie Cameron presents 17 antique postcards of her town embroidered with silk rainbows. The contrast of luminous pastels over muted sepia tones suggests a sense of gratitude, or a hopeful connection to past and future captured among these found photographs and vintage postcards. Those with written notes, or depicting significant trees, buildings, roads, or creeks that still stand in Los Gatos, particularly inspire wonder. Born as Marie’s personal project during the pandemic, Rainbow on Los Gatos is on display for one month and is part of a limited-edition series created exclusively for NUMU’s philanthropic members.
