Santa Anna Bay Coconuts play surf like a rock band: mid-tempo instrumental rockers with guitar solos galore, but lots of low-end. Not quite the screeching guitars that have come to define surf revival bands, but, as one writer pointed out, they record their music like they “get it.” It’s surf music done how nerdy aficionados would have them do it. The group rips however one looks at it. The Belgium-based four-piece also boasts a brand-new record, The Pineapple Parade. Much of it was written during their 2023 trip to California.
