Mexico City-born Saúl Sierra-Alonso is a celebrated bassist, composer and arranger. Wholly immersed in the world of Latin jazz and Afro-Caribbean musical traditions, today the Berklee College graduate works out of the Bay Area. His eclectic résumé includes work with Peter Erskine, Zakir Hussain and Charlie Musselwhite. In addition to enthusiastic participation in musical projects led by his peers in the music community, he leads the Saúl Sierra Quartet. Working with Marco Díaz (piano and trumpet) and percussionists Júlio Pérez and Ahkeel Mestayer, Sierra explores the vibrancy and potential of Latin jazz.
