Whether it’s cold and rainy—or feeling like spring—there’s no reason to hibernate during a California winter. Years ago people used to complain about the lack of culture here, but that’s not the case these days. There’s more to experience than time to do it. 

Arts groups in San Jose and on the Peninsula have rolled out their seasons, galleries are posting exhibits and theaters are booking touring acts. Here’s a sampling of experiences that await local culture vultures. 

DANCE

Giselle: Grand Kyiv Ballet A haunting masterpiece of the Romantic era. Mission Chamber Orchestra of San José
