Smokey Robinson is an American musical giant. As lead singer of the Miracles, he was at the vanguard of the Motown sound. That group became one of the most influential acts in popular music, placing more than 50 songs on the American singles charts. The Miracles also racked up numerous awards, and were inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. After leaving the Miracles in 1972, Robinson went on to a prolific solo career, releasing at least two dozen solo albums and scores of charting singles.
