Brian Jonestown Massacre – Fist Full of Bees
Anton Newcombe packed more creativity into a 20 minute record Store Day release than many bands can whip up in an entire career. From catchy and melodic (“Food For Clouds”) to downright menacing (the vocal deliver on “Fist Full of Bees” is delivered with hip hop phrasing on top of a tripped out, slow motion groove that would fit perfectly on Sly’s There’s A Riot Going On LP) to a 10 minute repetitive Motorik groove (“Everything Fades To White”) that’s combines danger and blissed out hypnotism all in one.
