Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez’s The Book of Mormon debuted only 15 years ago but has already become one of the longest-running Broadway shows of all time, not to mention one of the most clever, profane and subversive. It’s certainly the only musical to satirize religion, poverty, guerilla warfare, AIDS and female mutilation. The story is about two young, naive missionaries from Utah whose plan to convert people in Uganda into Mormons, but it doesn’t go as planned. It won nine Tonys and made stars out of original cast members Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells. Performances go until March 8.
