Italian playwright Stefano Massini’s The Lehman Trilogy premiered in 2013 and was later adapted into English by Ben Power and directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Jarhead, Revolutionary Road). The play tells the 163-year story of the three German-Jewish Lehman brothers, from their arrival in America in 1844 to the founding of their investment bank, to the 2008 financial collapse. In the production, which won five Tony awards, the three actors play all 50 characters. Kenneth Kelleher directs this version for the San Jose Stage Company, featuring Peter Hadres, Johnny Moreno and Brian Herndon. Performances go until March 1.
