The Living Earth Show at Stanford

This Thursday, Stanford Live presents a stunning collaboration between the Living Earth Show and Post:ballet called Lyra. Based on the tragic ancient Greek myth/love story of Orpheus and Eurydice, Lyra combines dance, visual design and contemporary classical music to portray Eurydice’s death, Orpheus’s descent into the underworld to find her and, ultimately, lose her along with his faith. Composed by Samuel Adams and choreographed by Vanessa Thiessen, with visual elements by Benjamin Tarquin, Lyra combines digital and physical spaces to explore the human condition. (TM)
