American silver screen icon John Wayne trades the scrubby, golden expanse of the Wild West for the emerald green hills of the Irish countryside in the John Ford-directed The Quiet Man. While there he takes an interest in his spunky neighbor, Mary Kate Danaher, played by Maureen O’Hara.
