Perhaps more than any other outfit, the Nineteen Jazz Orchestra is the premiere San Jose big band. Headed by San Jose native Gus Kambeitz, the Nineteen comprises a wealth of local working musicians. They’re bringing their diverse talents to the City Lights Theater Company stage this month, performing classic hits from various movies and television shows. And Mercury News columnist Sal Pizarro will host a “name that tune” competition. With over 20 years of experience under their belt, the Nineteen Jazz Orchestra is sure to delight. (TM)
