She might be from Oregon, but singer/songwriter ZZ Ward is all country at heart. One could say she was born into the life. Instead of jamming with her friends to pop, punk or rock tunes, 12-year-old Ward sang Albert King, Muddy Waters and Big Mama Thornton covers with her pops, Daddy Ward. Today, she is a rising blues singer touring the circuit with a soulful voice and gritty guitar licks packaged in clean production and modern sensibility. With her signature variety of hats, Ward is taking her country-friend sound across the US on her Dirty Sun Tour, named after Dirty Shine, released last year.
