Shawn Harris shares his new children’s book, Let’s Be Bees, with a read-aloud and interactive drawing workshop. This tale of a father and child becoming buzzing bees uses bold crayon illustrations, rhymes and all manner of funny sounds to inspire the joy of creating a make-believe world together. Self-described as the maker of books “for children, adults who read with children, and adults who simply enjoy children’s books—in that order,” Harris is a 2021 Caldecott honoree as well as the illustrator of Dave Eggers’ Newbery Medal-winning The Eyes and the Impossible (2023).
