.The Rose at Stanford

When is a K-pop band not a K-pop band? When they are the Rose. This Korean quartet has more in common with U2 or Coldplay than it does with many of its contemporary Korean artists. Their first major single, 2017’s “Sorry,” was a piano-driven soft rock ballad that took the world charts by storm, earning praise from Rolling Stone India and proclaimed one of the best Korean pop tracks of 2017 by Billboard. After a string of hit singles throughout the years, the Rose finally released their first full-length album, Heal, in 2022 to critical acclaim. Last year, they gave an explosive performance at Coachella, garnering themselves even more fans worldwide.
