Bit Brigade pairs a locked-in rock band with a live speed run of Mega Man X, ripping through rock arrangements of every stage theme and boss fight in real time while their gamer tears through the game onstage. The synchronization is absurd. Every 16-bit cue lands exactly where it should, and the whole thing builds into something way more intense than it has any right to be in a sweaty club on a Thursday night. Mega Man X has plenty of drama already baked into its pixels, but adding live volume and a room full of people losing their minds over a Sigma kill elevates it into something completely its own.
