Before he created Pippin and the phenomenon that is Wicked (the second-highest-grossing musical of all time), legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz wrote Godspell. With a book by John-Michael Telebak, the 1971 musical is based on the Gospel of Matthew and follows a troupe of eight characters in modern-day New York who spread the teachings of Christ by acting out parables in skits, songs and games. Directed by Kikau Alvaro, this production features young performers ages 8 to 14 from Children’s Musical Theater San Jose. Performances go until May 3
