Cartoon Hearts in San Jose

For those who can’t get enough of the radio-pop rock sounds of bands like the 1975, the Strokes, the Killers—really, most of the “THE” bands of the mid-’00s—it’s time to rejoice because the Cartoon Hearts are here. The latest project from local artist Jay Chiorean (Careful, Brother, Rove), the band released their emotionally raw yet infectiously catchy debut album, Falling Out of Love Overnight, this past summer. The record release show was at Art Boutiki, where they happen to be returning this Friday. Of course, no local showcase is complete without an opener, and San Jose’s funk rock five, Stratosphere, are just the band for the job.
