Dean & Britta Work With Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests

“13 Most Beautiful: Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests” is the newest project by dream pop dreamboats Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips, husband-and-wife members of the band Luna (Wareham was also in Galaxie 500 and Phillips was the singing voice of Jem and the Holograms). The pair plays their soundtrack amidst a backdrop of Warhol’s famous screen tests—captivating footage featuring Nico, Lou Reed, Edie Sedgwick and more ‘60s icons that became Warhol’s superstars. D.C. punk veteran and all-around weirdo Ian Svenonius opens the evening with his most recent band Escape-ism.
