Trans joy, defiance, and wicked sharp humor blend in “Hairy Situation,” Alok’s new standup show. Prior to this, Alok’s dynamic shows have delighted audiences in over 40 countries. They starred in a 2024 docu-short executive produced by Jodie Foster, and featured in HBO’s The Sex Lives of College Girls, Hulu’s Planet Sex with Delevingne, and Netflix’s Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness. Also, an LGBTQIA+ activist and poet, Alok has garnered global recognition for their literary work. Singer Sam Smith said of Alok’s gender primer Beyond the Gender Binary, “when reading this book, all I feel is kindness.”
