This weekend, San Jose’s New Ballet reimagines the whimsical 1919 ballet La Boutique Fantasque, which translates to “The Enchanted Toyshop.” In this innovative production, seasoned choreographer Dalia Rawson joins forces with LA-based animator Atlquetzalli Rivera to bring a Paris toy store to life not only through dance, but also through visual art. Children and adults alike are sure to be mesmerized by the movements of glittering dolls, introduced with animated scenes and set to a classical score. Rawson attests, “It’s the most special show I’ve ever put together.”
